Today is World Sight Day! But what is it all about?
Held every October, World Sight Day is an international day of awareness to focus attention on the global issue of eye health. This year, the focus is on encouraging people to prioritise their own eye care, as well as helping to ensure that eye care is accessible, inclusive and affordable to EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.
In Pakistan alone, 26 million people are estimated to be visually impaired, of which 1.8 million are blind, making it Pakistan’s biggest public health problem.
This is why EVERYDAY (not just World Sight Day), our mission is to continue to support the people of Pakistan by providing high quality ophthalmic care to those who cannot afford it.
