In honor of World Sight Day on 10/10, we successfully hosted a community event aimed at raising awareness about vision health and providing critical resources to those in need. The event was held at the Residence of His Excellency Ambassador Munir Akram and Mrs. Munir Akram.
The event was held to raise awareness of the millions of people in Pakistan suffer from blindness and/or impaired vision. In a country often in the throes of economic and political instability, such conditions can be detrimental to the personal as well as the professional.
Not only are we providing life-changing treatment that allows parents to take care of their children, or children to read and find joy – we’re also giving disadvantaged Pakistanis their first chance to work and earn their keep.
LRBT’s goal is simple, yet enormous: treat curable blindness and visual impairment by providing world-standard, free eye surgery and ophthalmic care for every single Pakistani.
So that Pakistanis can find joy. So that they can love, communicate, study, work and have fun in the world around them without the pain and worry of impaired vision.
But we can’t change the world on our own.
Here’s how you can help us.
· Make a one-time donation online or at this event.
