Student of 9th grade, studying in his neighborhood’s government school Muhammad Faizan is the apple of his parent’s eye. He is the eldest of four children and despite being just 14, helps out his father at work. His father has a small shop of daily essential items and Faizan goes there straight from school to help out since his father finds it difficult to manage due to his poor health.
Faizan had been facing issue with his left eye since the past 4 years, thinking that it would be resolved with glasses he did not burden his parents and tried to manage as best as he could. It was when he was having trouble seeing at night that he asked his father to take him for a checkup. They went to a local hospital where the doctor diagnosed him with cataract. Faizan despite his young age immediately got worried about the cost and questioned the doctor about it. Seeing Fazian’s anxiety the doctor told his father to take him to LRBT Multan Road Hospital where treatment was free for the poor.
Faizan’s father took him the very next day and after a thorough examination he was given a date for surgery. Faizan looked visibly scared on the day of the operation but the kind doctors managed to calm him down. He had a successful operation and his vision was much better than before at his follow-up visit.
He is back to school now and his father was all praises for LRBT, thanking the staff for giving his son his future back.
