Rana Sarwar from Gujranwala earns his livelihood by working in the fields. He works from dawn to dusk and after paying rent and supporting his wife and six children, he barely makes ends meet. His children are still young, and he dreams of sending them to school – a dream yet unfulfilled.
A year ago, Rana started having blurred vision. Toiling in the fields in the heat and dust all day had taken its toll on him. As time passed his vision started to deteriorate considerably, worried Rana went to a local Ophthalmology clinic where the doctor diagnosed him with cataract in his right eye. The expenses of cataract surgery were too high for him to bear, dejected he returned home and asked his wife to pray for a miracle.
His family could not bear to see him slowly going blind but they were helpless. As time passed they gave up all hope of Rana ever getting his sight back, luckily for him a relative who had come for a visit told them about an eye hospital that treated the poor completely free of cost.
Hoping against hope, Rana accompanied by his relative went to LRBT Hospital Pasrur for a checkup. There he was examined in detail and given a date for surgery.
Rana’s cataract surgery was performed successfully. His family were in tears and couldn’t stop thanking LRBT for helping him without expecting anything in return. When Rana came back for his post op checkup, he was all praises for LRBT. “I am thankful to all the doctors and staff at this great hospital for treating me with dignity and respect and giving me my sight back.”
