Aziz ur Rehman hails from Mansehra. He is a laborer and the sole bread earner of his family. He is married with two children and has 6 younger siblings. His parents passed away a couple of years ago and since then he and his two brother have been running the household.
Aziz’s income is just Rs. 10,000 a month and his brothers earn approximately the same. Even with their combined income they find it difficult to make ends meet. His children and 4 siblings go to school and after paying their fees and rent he has nothing left over for emergencies. Although just 33, Aziz had to be admitted to the hospital a couple of months ago for various health issues due to stress. His wife tries her best to help shoulder the burden by stitching cushion covers and selling them to the shops in the market.
His health had just stabilized when he felt that he was unable to see clearly from one eye, it worsened to the point that he was unable to do his work properly. His family tried to take him for a checkup but fearing the cost he kept on delaying. It was by luck that a friend told him about LRBT Mansehra and its free eye services for the poor.
Aziz went for an examination and was diagnosed with cataract, he was given a date for surgery. His surgery was successful and he is now back to work. He was all praises for LRBT and its donors.
