Every World Sight Day, all of us here at LRBT USA like to remind ourselves of our core values — our cause is simple. It is noble. But most of all, it is transparent. We take your hard-earned capital, and we distribute it to build infrastructure and provide vital services to the people that need it most. We do not have extortionate salaries as is common of charities this size, our auditing process is impenetrably robust. And every single one of the charity's employees comes to work every day not out of financial necessity but out of an unwavering purpose. This is a source of immense pride for all of us. Every single doctor, nurse, builder, security guard, cleaner is motivated and guided by this purpose. It is our moral, religious and civic obligation as Pakistanis to help our most vulnerable regardless of race, gender, age, profession or creed. LRBT USA functions as LRBT Pakistan’s engine — the capital we raise helps transform millions of lives. And we have been able to do this only because of you.

Without you, LRBT would no longer be able to carry out the vital, life-changing healthcare we provide through our 20 hospitals. Our 63+ clinics would not be able to sustain themselves — we would no longer be able to pay our doctors and our nurses. We would no longer be able to prevent hundreds of thousands of children from going blind. Without you we wouldn’t be able to end the epidemic of blindness caused by malnutrition. Without you, millions of Pakistanis would have to live their lives with visual impairments that inhibit them from working, reading, seeing their loved ones, living with dignity.

Now, more than ever, we must play our part in ensuring the foundations of humanity are upheld — especially in countries like ours. So thank you for restoring dignity in the lives of so many people.
