Muhammad Sharif who is 60 years old is from Pakpattan and currently resides in Awan Town, Lahore. His work is ruthless as a laborer and he does back breaking work every day to support his family; his four sons and two daughters. Two of his sons are laborers like him. With their combined income they run the household; Muhammad’s wife is diabetic and his youngest daughter needs extra attention to meet her needs. He saves what little he can for his daughter so that she has something to fall back on once he and his wife are no longer  in this world.

Working under the sun with dust and debris all around him, his sight eventually started to suffer. He went to a private hospital for a checkup when his sight began to deteriorate in his work and was diagnosed with cataract.

On his salary he could not afford the surgery and he tried not to think about the time when he would become financially and physically dependent on his children. He kept quiet about his ailment and continued working. But luckily for him he heard about a free eye care hospital near his home and came to LRBT Multan Road Lahore.

Muhammad had a successful surgery, upon leaving the hospital he praised the doctors and the institution for providing quality care free of cost
