Eid Mubarak

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones
As the crescent moon marks the end of Ramadan, LRBT USA extends our warmest wishes to you and your family for a joyous and blessed Eid al-Fitr.
A month of generosity, now complete
This Ramadan would not have been possible without you. Your generosity carried LRBT USA through one of the most meaningful seasons of giving all year. Because of you, patients who could never have afforded treatment received the care - and the sight - they needed.
This Ramadan, together, we helped provide:
Sight-saving surgeries for patients who had nowhere else to turn
Free eye care to underserved communities across Pakistan
Essential medical care for preventable and treatable eye conditions
Relief for families facing hardship, in body and in circumstance
Dignity and independence restored to the most vulnerable
Community outreach that will help catch the next case of preventable blindness before it's too late
Safina's story: Seeing her grandmother's face for the first time

This Eid, we think of children like Safina, a 9-year-old girl from Jacobabad, Balochistan, now living in Karachi. The eldest of five siblings, Safina's father works as a daily-wage construction laborer and her mother cleans homes in an affluent neighbourhood - a family that gives everything it has, every day, just to get by.
Safina was born with congenital cataracts that worsened throughout her childhood. She struggled to recognize faces, move safely around her own home, and keep up with her siblings. When adults mistook her struggles for laziness, Safina herself put it simply: "I am not lazy. I just cannot see properly."
Thanks to donors like you, Safina received cataract surgery at LRBT Korangi, entirely free of charge. The change was immediate and profound. She now moves confidently through her home, attends school and plays with her siblings - and for the first time, she can see her grandmother's face clearly, a face that had only ever been a blur to her.
Safina is LRBT's 61 millionth patient - a number that, behind it, is a nine-year-old girl who can finally see the people she loves.
Eid Mubarak, and thank you
As families gather to celebrate Eid, we hope you take pride in knowing that your generosity this Ramadan gave the gift of sight to those who needed it most. The impact of what you've given doesn't end with the month - it carries into every patient who walks into an LRBT hospital still able to see, into every child like Safina who gets to spend this Eid truly seeing the family around her.
Your unwavering support has been pivotal in our fight against curable blindness in Pakistan. Through your generosity, we have been able to provide free eye care to millions of those in need - giving them the opportunity to celebrate this Eid with their family, just like Safina.
As we embrace the spirit of this blessed occasion, may we remember the importance of giving and sharing during these festivities with those who are not as blessed. This Eid, give Sadaqah in honor of your loved ones so the cycle of goodness continues.
