At just 25 years old, Khalida carried a responsibility far greater than most people her age. Living in a small village near Tando Bago, Sindh, she was the sole caregiver for her elderly parents. After her two brothers married and moved away, the responsibility of looking after her aging mother and father fell entirely on her shoulders.

Out of love and devotion, Khalida made a life-changing sacrifice. She chose not to marry, fearing that leaving home would mean leaving her parents with no one to care for them.

Then, everything changed.

Cataracts slowly stole the sight in both of her eyes. Everyday tasks that once came naturally became impossible. She could no longer cook, clean, or care for her parents. As her world faded into darkness, so did her hope. Most days, she sat silently in one place, believing her purpose in life had come to an end.

Watching their daughter lose both her independence and her spirit was heartbreaking for her parents. With no stable source of income, they had no way to afford the treatment she desperately needed. Her elderly father prayed constantly, asking Allah to open a door for his daughter's recovery.

That prayer was answered when someone guided the family to LRBT Tando Bago Eye Hospital.

Following a comprehensive examination, Khalida underwent cataract surgery on one eye, followed by surgery on the second eye with lens implantation. Thanks to LRBT's free, state-of-the-art eye care services, she regained her sight.

For Khalida, seeing again meant far more than restored vision. It meant reclaiming her independence, caring for her parents once again, and looking toward the future with renewed confidence.

For her parents, it meant seeing their daughter smile again.

Today, Khalida and her family continue to pray for LRBT and its supporters, whose generosity restores not only eyesight, but hope, dignity, and the chance for a brighter tomorrow.
