YOUR ZAKAT: We are extremely pleased to inform you that you helped us raise $537,717 in Zakat this Ramadan.
All Zakat has been distributed to LRBT in Pakistan and we are pleased to announce that we will be funding LRBT’s Lar Multan hospital in Punjab, Pakistan for the next 12 months (June 2021 – May 2022).
All treatments including major and minor surgeries will be funded for underprivileged patients.
To show our support even more – plaques (see picture above) have been placed across the Lar Multan hospital to acknowledge the generosity from donors in the United States.
EYE CARE ISSUES IN MULTAN: The biggest concerns with patients in Multan is cataract and people are sadly affected with; blurry vision, poor night vision, double vision, headaches and frequent change in optical power.
PATIENTS: On average the patients that are treated at the hospital are both male and female from the age of 40 – 70. They are working class families and 90% of the patients are from remote areas of extreme poverty and cannot afford treatment or surgeries.
HOW YOUR ZAKAT WILL BE SPENT IN LAR MULTAN: We estimate that your Zakat will cover over 12,300 major surgeries – this includes cataract surgeries with IOL implants (ECCE/ICCE + IOL, Phaco + IOL, SICS + IOL, ECCE / ICCE with AC, Secondary IOL, Phaco with AC + IOL) and glaucoma.
We will also be performing minor surgeries for eye care issues such as: chalazion, corneal stitch removal, cyst puncture, ectropian, entropian, epilation, foreign body removal, pterygium, sac wash, sub conjunctiva and tarsorrhaphy.
ABOUT LAR MULTAN: Lar Multan hospital has eight doctors and seven nurses. The hospital is built on 12 kanal (7260 sq yards) and is 28 minutes’ drive from Multan city.
COVID19: Throughout COVID, Lar Multan has been fully operational, and they continue to follow strict guidelines from the government, providing masks to all patients, maintaining strict social distant and ensuring the safety of all doctors and paramedics by wearing the required PPE.
